Readings & Performances
Please email thebodyconnected [AT] gmail [DOT] com to book me for a reading or performance; please use “Booking” in the subject line, and include a little bit about yourself and your event. I regularly read/perform around the Twin Cities, but will also gladly travel nationally for funded opportunities, either independently or as part of my 2019 book tour (stay tuned for an announcement of dates and locations in winter 2018/19). You can find a list of previous events on my Artist CV. To learn more about me and my work, visit my About page or read about my forthcoming book.
Workshops, Talks, Class Visits, & Presentations
I would love to visit your institution, organization, class, or event to talk about queer and genderqueer poetics, disability and embodied poetics, the lyric essay form, hybrid literary and visual forms, multidisciplinary arts practices, as well as the practical elements of being a working artist (creating an adaptable artistic practice, applying for funded opportunities, etc). To book me for a visit, email me at thebodyconnected [AT] gmail [DOT] com and tell me a little bit about yourself and the proposed event; please include the event type in the subject line (i.e. “Class Visit,” “Half-Day Workshop,” etc). I am only booking paid opportunities at this time, but I am happy to travel within the midwest and nationally with funding support.
I have delivered both long and short versions of a talk called “Embodied Poetics: Queering the Lyric Essay,” which can be tailored to any given environment and audience. View excerpts of the talk here, given as my MFA thesis defense in May 2017. A list of my past teaching and presentation experience is available on my Artist CV.
